"We must learn to pursue empathy and understand problems not from our perspective but from the perspective of the people going through them. It's important to understand and respect what matters for these communities and how they want to be portrayed and seen. We need to have that openness and become allies, which is what our organization tries to do every day: to pursue this empathy. Because we are all equal. We are an ally to Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities dealing with matters of access to Health and Water and the protection of the right to maintain traditional ways of living in harmony with Nature.

We believe the most effective and lasting solutions for the problems IPLC communities face should be designed, developed and implemented by organizations led by Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities. We are here to support their solutions through our grants program and by raising awareness about issues that affect them through advocacy communications.
