Health center in Malawi receives a new water system and meets the daily needs of 1,000

preview_v2

AWF raised the necessary funds to implement
a new, better, and safer water system at the
Engucwini Health Centre, located in the Mzimba district,
in Malawi's Northern region, that completely changed the
lives of patients, medical staff, and the surrounding community.

Water Mission designed and implemented the new system that meets the daily water needs of 1,000 people. A water distribution tap was  installed just outside the health center premises for community access.

"We usually started to work very late due to the long-distance to fetch water. And as health workers, we were at risk", Bester Zimba, a Clinician Health at Engucwini Health Centre, stressed out, explaining the situation before the new system was implemented.

To GVH Kuvute Shaba, a resident of Engucwini and Chief, the new water system brought the community "relief."
